NBA Labor Update

The NFL is still lockout and the NBA seems to be on same
path. The NBA’s players and owners are having meetings to discuss a new
Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to stop a lockout.

The current CBA is set to expire July 1, 2011. The owners
and players are having disputes about revenue sharing and a new CBA. NBA
Commissioner David Stern agrees with the players, that the owners should do a
better job with sharing the revenue with the players. But, owners don’t want to
discuss the revenue sharing till the CBA is settled.

Tuesday June 28, 2011, the NBA’s Board of Governors will
meet in Dallas to continue their talks about the new CBA. The Board of Governor
could choose to lockout the league as early as tomorrow at their meeting in
Dallas. I hope they come up with an agreement tomorrow to avoid a lockout.
