The Memphis Grizzlies announce around 11:30pm that assistant Coach Dave Joerger will be promoted to head coach. The 39-year old coach has spent the last six seasons as Lionel Hollin’s assistant. Joerger was in charge of the defense under Lionel.
Joerger coached in the International Basketball Association, the Continental Basketball Association and the D-League, where he won five titles in seven seasons as a head coach.
