After waiting almost three hours, the Grizzlies finally made
their pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies selected Josh Selby with the 49th
pick in the second round.
Josh Selby is a steal for the Grizzlies in the second round.
Selby is a 6’3” 187 lbs freshman guard from Kansas. Selby is the third Kansas
Jayhawks selected by the Grizzlies, joining former Jayhawks’ Xavier Henry and
Darrell Arthur.
Selby didn’t have a standout career at Kansas like most
experts expected. He had to sit out some games for breaking NCAA rules and he
never truly jelled with the Jayhawks. But Selby was a high school standout and
most high school standouts fair well in the NBA.
This was a player the Grizzlies’ GM Chris Wallace wanted and
he got his man. I believe that Selby will be a great fit for the Grizzlies.
This was a very solid pick for the Grizzlies. Overall, this was a good and safe draft for
the Memphis Grizzlies.
Welcome to Memphis Josh Selby and I hope to see you play in
the Bluff City Classic this summer.
This was a good pick for the Grizz!
